ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Jesse Torres - State Farm Agent is a leading insurance agency dedicated to providing exceptional service to our customers.  We are currently seeking a friendly, dependable, and highly organized individual to join our team as a Receptionist - State Farm Agent Team Member.

This is a customer service and front-office support position designed to help create a welcoming, responsive experience for our customers. You will be one of the primary first points of contact for the office—helping customers who walk in, answering incoming calls, assisting with routine payment needs, making sure customer requests get to the right person for assistance, gather information regarding customer service requests, and connect customers with the appropriate licensed team member when insurance servicing, coverage advice, claims assistance, or other licensed activity is required.

An insurance license is not required for this position. We are looking for someone who enjoys helping people, communicates well, stays organized, and can confidently manage a busy front-office environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet customers warmly and professionally when they visit the office and help connect them with the appropriate team member.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and provide a friendly, professional first point of contact for customers.
  • Assist customers with routine payment needs and help direct billing-related questions to the appropriate team member when additional assistance is needed.
  • Listen to customer concerns, gather the necessary details, document the request accurately, and route it to the appropriate licensed team member for handling.
  • Receive and appropriately route customer requests involving added or replacement vehicles, drivers, lienholders, address changes, proof of insurance, coverage changes, policy cancellations or suspensions, and other policy service needs.
  • Provide customers with available documents or information when appropriate and permitted for the role.
  • Direct claims-related questions and requests to the appropriate claims resource or agency team member.
  • Route more complex billing questions, coverage questions, policy reviews, and other insurance-related matters to a licensed team member.
  • Identify when a customer expresses interest in an additional insurance product or has a potential insurance need and connect the customer with the appropriate licensed team member. This position is not expected to sell or provide insurance recommendations.
  • Assist with appointment scheduling, customer communications, office organization, and general administrative responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate notes, documentation and customer information so requests can be efficiently completed by the appropriate team member.
  • Take responsibility for making sure customer requests are properly documented, routed, and followed through so customers do not fall through the cracks.
  • Help maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming office environment.
  • Support the broader agency team with administrative tasks and customer-service projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Self-motivated and comfortable taking initiative to keep customer requests, follow-ups, and front-office responsibilities moving without constant supervision.
  • Previous receptionist, front-desk, administrative, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with customers both in person and by telephone.
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to accurately capture and document customer requests.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple customer requests, phone calls, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Comfortable working with computers, Microsoft Office, CRM/customer-management systems, and learning new technology.
  • Able to recognize when a customer request needs to be transferred or escalated rather than attempting to resolve something outside the responsibilities of the position.
  • Dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable handling customer payments and sensitive customer information responsibly.
  • Willingness to learn insurance terminology, agency procedures, and customer-service workflows.
  • Insurance experience is helpful but not required.
  • Property & Casualty insurance licensing is not required for this position.

The ideal candidate will be someone who can become a dependable front-office presence—welcoming customers, answering calls, handling routine administrative needs, and making sure each customer reaches the right person for assistance.

Growth Opportunity: Insurance experience and licensing are not required to begin in this position. Team members who demonstrate strong customer service, reliability, and an interest in growing within the insurance industry may have opportunities to pursue licensing and additional responsibilities over time.
Compensation: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
